It was a hot and cloudy day at South Miami High School. The D-Backs came out quick in the top of the 1st inning with 4 runs, highlighted by Eric Brown's RBI line drive hit to center field. The Brewers would answer with 3 runs in the 1st for a 4-3 D-Backs lead after 1 inning. Gary Rader's double led off the 2nd inning, leading to 4 consecutive hits and 2 more runs for the D-Backs for a 6-3 lead after 2 innings. The Brewers tied the game with 2 runs in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th for a 6-6 game. The D-Backs scored 3 runs in the 6th, highlighted by Jay Habacht's 2 RBI hit for a D-Backs 9-6 lead. The Brewers would add a run in the 7th and The D-Backs would add 2 runs in the 9th for a final score of 11-7. Mario Figueredo earned the win for The D-Backs 5 IP, 2 ER, 4 K's. Fabian Hence pitched the 6th and 7th and gave up 1 only earned run. Jay Habacht picked up the save pitching the 8th and 9th inning, 0 ER, 1 hit, 2 K, 0 BB. Eric Brown and David Palma had 2 hits each. Jay Habacht had 3 RBI's off the bench. Good game to manager George Kenhan and a solid Brewers squad. |
