Southern Yankees Bats Awake |
by Southern Yankees (28+ Division)
|
The Southern Yankees returned to form this week with a 16-5 win over the new Broward Indians. The game started out slowly with a scoreless first inning by both teams. But the Southern Yankees bats awoke in every inning thereafter & pulled away with the win. Hats off to Player/ Manager Joe of the Indians, who did it all. He was on the mound, at first base and even behind the plate. And he obviously had dance lessons @ Fred Astaire Studios with some fancy footwork on the mound & a heckuva pickoff move! All that besides managing his new squad. We wish you well for the season. The Southern Yankees hitters played Terminax man by spraying the ball all over the field and were led by Keith Litwak, Ken Silberling, Anthony Tomasi and Player/Manager Ray Asmar who clubbed two hits apiece to lead the hit parade. Silberling and Litwak had 3RBI each to also pace the balanced attack. Franklin Brito once again pitched well to earn the victory while giving up only 2 runs. The Yankees welcome back Anthony Tomasi who was a monster @ the plate. A great bounce back team win and we look forward to continuing the season Sunday morning in Ft Lauderdale @ Sunset Park.
