| In a game which featured two skeleton crews, the A's battled the Miami Canes to a 4-4 tie on Sunday to finish the regular season with an 8-3-1 record which is good enough for 2nd in the Premier Division. The game on Sunday was almost indifferent as both teams knew they would face each other in the playoffs, with the winner earning the home team seed. The A's did start off well as Timmy K was dominant on the mound once again as he went 6 strong innings giving up only 1 run while striking out 12. Carlos Alvarez finished the final 3 innings and battled some errors to give up only 1 earned run. The A's scored their four runs in the first 3 innings taking advantage of some Canes miscues. The A's will look to heat up the bats next week in the playoffs if they hope to advance to a championship game. |
