MAKING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM GREAT AGAIN |
by Southern Yankees (35+ Division)
|
Many of you may have caught the opening World Series game between the New York Yankees & the Los Angeles Dodgers. The lead in was spectacular as two iconic sports franchises battle for the World Series Crown. Something you may have noticed was the singing of the National Anthem by country singer Brad Paisley. It was a fabulous spine tingling rendition with beautiful graphics and timely player and crowd shots. Well what happened in the second game as if there was an anthem before the second game the network showed commercials instead and led right into the game. You may recall then President Donald Trump at the Navy/Army football game in the cold with the snow falling and the fighters flying overhead much to the delight of the Navy Midshipmen and Army Cadets. I have always advocated that it should be MANDATORY that the networks show the National Anthem before each & every big game and event. Sorry if you don't feel the same but if you lack love for country you should perhaps be in another location. Sort of a Make the National Anthem Great Again and I have proposed it to 47 and hopefully he reinstates that for the future of our country. Oh by the way we played baseball again at beautiful meticulous Sabal Pines Park after so many rainouts. And the results were good considering our rustiness and lack of practices. The Southern Yankees edged the ever improving South Florida Angels after trailing mid game. The final was 13-7 and Justin Bartoletta led the Yankees with 3 hits. We have many more games to play as the competition in the Over 35 South Florida Baseball League has gotten stronger and tougher. Hats off to the Angels and Player/Manager George Claudio who stroked 2 hits to lead his team. Thank you for your time this time until next and always remember to Stay Thirsty My friends! submitted by Ray Asmar Player/Manager Southern Yankees |
